Get Started: Basic Info for Cherubs

Here are some files that will help you launch your own Cherubs coop.

This is this general information letter. I have made it so you can fill in your own data, feel free to retype it with your data and special details for your group included:

Here is a description of what each segment during class is like. This is all part of the information you give out to the other parents on the first day of class so they can understand how it works.

If you like the border I designed and want to print it out as the letterhead for your Cherubs papers, here is the file:

You will need to have some basic information for each parent and child participating in the class. I prefer to send everything via email, but it's also helpful to have everything else. Birthdays are a fun part of Cherubs, so keep those on your monthly outline.

Here is the basic songs we include in our Cherubs group each week, as well as our schedule for this year. Feel free to adapt it to your needs.

Each month I compile the songs into an outline based on our theme. I also pass around a signup sheet for each quarter so we can rotate teaching assignments. The biggest key to the success of a Cherubs coop is that everyone helps participate. Here is the signup sheet I made in Microsoft Excel for this year:

I will post my outlines on this blog to hopefully give ideas for each month. I also work best around a theme, so you will probably notice each month has a different group of songs. Kids do great with visual aids, try to keep them simple and inexpensive.
My friend Kellie is the success behind the Cherubs group that I took over. She is incredible, and if you look at the next post you can find her suggestions for starting up your own group.
